Flower can range in density from hard nugs that need to be broken up in a grinder, to light, airy buds that can easily be broken up by hand. Different strains will also have a heavy or light amount of trichomes.

Some common methods include: water extraction (ice water hash or bubble hash), heat and pressure extraction (rosin and hand hash), chemical extraction (CO2, butane, pentane, hexane), and dry sieve hash/kief. Chemical extraction in particular produces a wide variety of consistencies, with concentrates coming in forms such as glass, crumble, diamonds, shatter, budder, sugar, and sauce.

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a non-intoxicating compound produced by the cannabis plant that is popularly used for a variety of medical applications including pain, anxiety, and seizures. Although most cannabis varieties contain high levels of the euphoric compound THC, the plant can be bred to produce increased amounts of other compounds like CBD. Although CBD cannabis strains can be smoked in flower form, it is most commonly extracted from the plant and prepared into oils, edibles, and vape products.
